Now into its fourth decade in business, Pointe Dairy Services Inc. was established in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, in April of 1968.  The founder, Joseph P. Selvaggio, Sr., began distributing Sealtest Dairy Products to stores and restaurants from a small refrigerated truck.  Its humble beginnings were short-lived as new customers started up service.  The company grew; trucks and drivers were added.  Joe's philosophy was simple: 

Give the customers quality,
                              give them service, service, service!

In June of 1975, Pointe Dairy Service Inc. began distributing Borden's Dairy products after Sealtest closed their Detroit milk production facility.  Enjoying sustained growth and a solid reputation, Pointe Dairy Services Inc. has increased it sales steadily every year.

Joe's sons Anthony, President; Alex, Treasurer; and Joseph, Jr., Vice President of Operations; have managed the company since 1981.

To meet its high standards of quality, the company relies on the competence and drive of its staff.  Personnel training, quality products, and customer service are considered top priority within the company.

Pointe Dairy Services Inc, isn't just a dairy distributor anymore.  Since 1985, Pointe Dairy Services Inc. has brought on many different lines of products and has associated itself with many familiar labels which are listed on our roster of products.

In August of 1997, Pointe Dairy Services Inc, moved into a new 40,000 square foot distribution center in Troy, Michigan, which has a cooler, freezer, and a dry warehousing capabilities with a crossdock capable of handling up to twenty trucks at one time.  Infrastructure of the warehouse space of this building has been designed so that it can be doubled in size very rapidly including the floor of the warehouse freezer section, which has a closed glycol system below the concrete floor for future freezer growth.
